Reefer haulers trucking into California with 2003 model year reefers must now meet new emissions standards.
A 90-day grace period for the mandate expired April 1st and all model year 2003 reefer engines must meet new emission control standards under the California Air Resources Board’s Transportation Refrigeration Unit regulation.
Companies can be fined up to $500 for each occurrence for failing to be registered with the state’s TRU registration system and up to $1,000 for “in-use performance violations”.
